Periodontal disease is defined as a chronic inflammatory disease that acts directly on the tissues that support and support the teeth. Psychological stress is present in the relationship with periodontal disease, as risk indicators. Based on the idea that the immune response is compromised by stressors, causing infections and periodontal destruction. In this perspective, the study sought to answer the following problem: How has the literature contemplated the relationship between stressful activities and periodontal disease? In this context, the study aims to review in the literature how the relationship between stress and periodontal disease has been contemplated and as specific objectives to characterize the articles in the databases regarding the year and place of publication, to identify the psychological stress factors that interferes with the evolution of periodontal diseases by checking the impact of non-surgical periodontal therapy considering the levels of stress hormones. The work carried out consists of an integrative literature review, where the bibliographic research was carried out in the electronic databases PubMed and VHL, with text in Portuguese and English, available, and indexed in the selected databases, having the period of time as 2014 to 2019. “Psychological stress”, “Periodontal diseases”, “gingivitis”, “Periodontal Diseases”, “Stress, Psychological”, and “Gingivitis” were used as descriptors.
2025-02-10T08:18:41-03:00Copyright (c) 2024 Texturehttps://textura.emnuvens.com.br/textura/article/view/604Therapeutic Gardening Workshops in Psychosocial Care Centers (CAPS): A Literature Review on Benefits and Applications2025-02-13T09:21:12-03:00Emanuelle Lacerdamanilacerda@gmail.comVanessa de Oliveira Almeidavoagro@gmail.com
The implementation of therapeutic workshops in Psychosocial Care Centers (CAPS) represents a fundamental strategy for the psychosocial rehabilitation of individuals experiencing mental distress. This study reviewed the literature on the impact of environmental practices, such as therapeutic gardening, on mental health and the strengthening of CAPS users' autonomy. The review encompasses the historical and legislative aspects of mental health in Brazil, addressing the transition from the asylum model to a biopsychosocial perspective. Gardening workshops have shown potential to reduce anxiety levels, stimulate social interaction, and promote income generation, contributing to social reintegration and sustainability. Additionally, these activities foster environmental education and the conscious use of natural resources. It is concluded that including gardening workshops in CAPS is a promising therapeutic tool to improve users' quality of life and encourage sustainable practices within the mental health domain.
2025-02-12T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2024 Texturehttps://textura.emnuvens.com.br/textura/article/view/605Varicocele: A Review on Its Impacts on Fertility2025-02-13T09:21:13-03:00Renan Luiz Albuquerque Vieirarenan.albuquerque@hotmail.comLorena de Queiroz Cardosolory_cardoso12@hotmail.comVanessa de Oliveira Almeidavoagro@gmail.comVania Jesus dos Santos de Oliveiravania79br@yahoo.com.brKátia Nogueira Pestana de Freitaskatypestana@yahoo.com.br
Male infertility is characterized by low sperm production due to various factors, with one of the main ones being varicocele, a generally asymptomatic condition that negatively impacts male fertility by causing a reduction in testicular volume and decreased sperm production and quality. In these cases, a physical examination through palpation should be performed, and the patient's semen analysis should be requested. It is known that evaluating semen quality is an essential test to investigate the possible causes of infertility in couples. Therefore, this literature review article aims to present the causes and treatment of varicocele and understand its potential impact on male fertility. To guide this critical literature review, article selection and bibliographic review procedures based on meta-analyses were used. The search was conducted in databases such as Google Scholar and Scielo. It was found that varicocele is the most common clinical finding among infertile men. The definitive diagnosis is based on reduced testicular volume and/or prominent testicular veins. Early detection of the disease and prompt treatment show success in more than 90% of cases. It is concluded that varicocele correction surgery is recommended as the most appropriate treatment, which can improve fertility.
2025-02-13T08:49:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2024 Texturehttps://textura.emnuvens.com.br/textura/article/view/583Storytelling in Early Childhood Education to promote environmental education: 2025-02-13T09:21:14-03:00Maria das Graças Passos de Santana Santosneuroppgalsantos@gmail.comJosemare Pereira dos Santos Pinheiropinheiro_neta@yahoo.com.brFlávia Pedreira Almeidaflavia.farmacia21@gmail.com
This research is part of the discussions on the role of storytelling in Early Childhood Education, focusing on the promotion of Environmental Education. Art and narrative are recognized as essential forms of expression and cognitive and socio-emotional development for children. The study aims to understand teachers' perceptions of language teaching and child development, applying these concepts to storytelling practices to promote Environmental Education. The primary goal is to develop an integrative pedagogical approach, resulting in a digital pedagogical guide. The research, qualitative and exploratory in nature, was conducted in the Municipal Education Network of Governador Mangabeira, involving two schools, one in the rural area and another in the urban area. Document analysis and discussion sessions with teachers revealed that, although storytelling is widely practiced in Early Childhood Education, its application tends to focus on artistic and linguistic skills, with little exploration of integrated approaches that involve environmental and socio-emotional issues. The study contributes to the creation of resources that encourage a more comprehensive and engaging educational approach.

2025-01-27T13:27:06-03:00Copyright (c) 2025 Texturehttps://textura.emnuvens.com.br/textura/article/view/584Disorderly Occupation of Urban Spaces and its Socio-environmental Consequences: The Case of Santa Rita Subdivision in the Municipality of Nazaré – BA2025-02-13T09:21:16-03:00Jucimara Cruz Ribeiro Cardosojucimaramaiacardoso@gmail.comJosemare Pereira dos Santos Pinheiropinheiro_neta@yahoo.com.br
Urban planning plays a fundamental role in mitigating the negative effects of urbanization, contributing to the sustainable development of urban areas. Therefore, various tools can be employed for data collection, assessment, and the proposal of improvements within the community, aiming for more efficient and sustainable urban management. In this context, this research seeks to answer the following question: How can the identification of environmental impacts assist in mitigating socio-environmental degradation resulting from uncontrolled occupation in the Santa Rita Housing Complex, located in the municipality of Nazaré-BA? Thus, the general objective of this study is to identify the socio-environmental impacts caused by disordered occupation, aiming at the development of an environmental technical report to assist in mitigating conflicts between the natural environment and built structures. These impacts are evident in the environmental degradation of the Santa Rita Housing Complex in Nazaré-BA. The findings highlight that improving urban socio-environmental quality depends on government intervention to address the identified problems, as well as active participation from the local community in seeking sustainable solutions. Therefore, integrated management between public authorities and residents is essential to promote balanced urban development and minimize environmental damage.
2025-02-10T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2024 Texturehttps://textura.emnuvens.com.br/textura/article/view/553Is a stress-free job possible? Educational environments, such as museums, parks, and science centers, offer interactive experiences that complement the school curriculum. However, there are gaps in the understanding of how to integrate these practices into the educational context. In view of this, the objective of the present study sought to investigate how activities in informal spaces can promote scientific literacy among children/adolescents in elementary school I and II, encouraging curiosity and critical thinking. To this end, an integrative literature review was carried out. Articles were searched in the Web of Science and CAPES databases over the last five years, resulting in the identification of 39 articles. After analyzing the titles and abstracts, 12 were selected for full reading, and 5 were included in the final sample, meeting the research objective. The results highlight the importance of spaces such as museums and botanical gardens in promoting curiosity and critical thinking, in addition to facilitating meaningful scientific experiences. There is a gap in the literature on the connection between these spaces and scientific literacy, indicating the need for further studies. Educators face challenges in implementing scientific literacy, highlighting the importance of support and training.
2025-02-13T10:18:44-03:00Copyright (c) 2025 Texture
